Borek (Turkish Pastry) with Cheese and Parsley
Borek (Turkish Pastry) with Cheese and Parsley
Description
Borek has a very special place in Turkish cuisine.
Phyllo dough sheets, which we call yufka, can be found in small shops in Turkey, where women make and sell them fresh.
Â
I made this recipe with the frozen phyllo sheets which you can find in the frozen sections of the supermarkets.
Ingredients
Preparation
-
Bring the frozen phyllo sheets to room temperature.
Smash the feta cheese with a fork in a bowl and mix with the chopped parsley.
Mix the olive oil, milk, and egg white until they are smooth in another bowl.
Place one phyllo sheet on a clean and dry counter.
Spread some of the mixtures on it...
-
... and put the second sheet on top.
-

-
Step:
Fold the sides and roll it up.
-
Coat a nonstick baking pan with a thin layer of olive oil, arrange the rolls on it.
Spread the egg yolk on the rolls with a brush

Sprinkle with the black cumin.
Cut a thin line on top of each roll with a knife.
-
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Bake until the tops are golden for about 15 minutes.
Bon Appetit!
