Spaghetti with Tomato and Basil
Description
This easy pasta recipe combines spaghetti with fresh tomatoes and basil. It is healthy,delicious and great for busy days and family gatherings.

Heat olive oil in a large and deep skillet. Add minced garlic and cook until it is slightly browned,stirring occasionally.

Add tomatoes,salt and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes over low heat.

While the sauce simmers,heat 5-6 cups of water to boil in a pan. Add salt and 1 teaspoon of olive oil. Add spaghetti,boil for 10-11 minutes over medium heat. Drain well and transfer back to the pan.

Add tomato sauce on top of your spaghetti. Cook for 2-3 minutes over low heat until everything is combined ,stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat,garnish with chopped basil and serve immediately.Â

*You can pair it with a glass of red wine. (Because tomato-based pasta dishes are acidic, it's best to pair them with a medium-bodied red wine, as a wine that doesn't match the acidity of the sauce will taste bland. A cabernet sauvignon or Zinfandel is a good example of a red wine that goes well with tomato-based pasta dishes.)
